| Life has been CRAZY in the Hickle household! We've been so busy painting, moving, shopping, studying, testing, working, driving - ugh, you name it. Our house is coming along, but we're still far from living in it. Jeff has been so busy with school & finals that he hasn't had much time to spend working on it. But his last final is this morning, so he will be able to spend most of the week painting. Poor guy - the work never ends! I do what I can, but I don't really feel comfortable doing the hard stuff - like trimming. Oh well - it'll get done eventually!! I finally got most of my Christmas shopping done, so that's a relief. Still have a couple more stores to go to, but I've got the bulk out of the way. The mall was PACKED Saturday. I hate dealing with crowds. I got in - went to my 4 stores - and got out! LOL! Then, yesterday I spent the entire day in my dad's easy chair in front of the fire sleeping & watching movies!!! It felt soooooo wonderful! At first I felt extremely guilty because I knew there were a billion things I needed to get done! But then I thought - why should I feel guilty for honoring the Sabbath? I mean really - it's a command that I typically tend to treat as a "good suggestion". I had a professor in college who really challenged us to honor the Sabbath & not do anything related to "work" on that day. I learned so much from our Sabbath study yet now I seemed to have forgotten those valuable lessons. I am going to try and work on this. Sundays (the day our family holds as "the Sabbath") have become like any other day of the week. Not special, not restful, not even necessarily worshipful. Conviction? Yes. I have a rash on my arms. Well, kind of. I itch. When I scratch, these little bumps pop up, but then they go away. Today they're not going away. I have no clue what it could be. I don't have allergies at all - to food or anything else. It can't be poison ivy or poison oak? I dunno...I'm at a loss. Maybe I should try some cortisone cream. It's driving me nuts! Goodness - much to do today. Better get crakin! | | |
| Jeff and I bout a TV Armoire. They were having a GREAT after Thanksgiving sale & we knew we would be needing one anyway, so we went ahead and took the plunge! I really like it - it matches our coffee table & end tables almost exactly. We decided this would be our Christmas present to each other and something we would have forever (hopefully), so that takes away some of the stress off of shopping this year! Here's a picture of it I got off line. Once we move in, I'll post pics of the one in our living room. BTW - Did you know, you are not supposed to use Pledge or other dusting products like that on wood? That's what the furniture guy told us. He said to put vinegar & water in a spray bottle & use that with a soft cloth. I'm leery - but I figure I'll give it a try. We've been working like dogs to get our house painted by next weekend. It's coming together nicely, but I can't wait until everything is finished!
